Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Police state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then found many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking official said the incident left him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
